Have visited the pond but didn't mate

Bred for several years but not lately

Three-toed Box Turtle
(Terrapene carolina triunguis)

A regular visitor. Likes cantaloupe.

Red-eared Slider
(Trachemys scripta elegans)

Have visited the pond and cleaned out the algae. Wish they'd come more often.

Wish these would go away

Friendly and fun to watch

Plentiful

Texas Brown Snake
(Storeria dekayi texana)

Seen a few times

Gulf Coast Ribbon Snake (Thamnophis proximus orarius)

Come to the pond and catches the fish

Eastern Hognose Snake
(Heterodon platyrhinos)

Seen one time in the 1980's

Great Plains rat snake
(Elaphe bairdi)

Seen one time climbing back screen door (2012)

Diamondback Water Snake
(Nerodia rhombifera rhombirera)

Seen a few times at the pond

Texas Coral Snake
(Micrurus fulvius tenera)

Seen in the neighborhood and one time by the back door

Southern Copperhead
(Afkistrodon contortrix contortrix)

Found one in the garage. Took its picture and then encouraged it to leave
