We lost power at 3:03 a.m. Saturday morning taking down the power lines for a block. CenterPoint restored power at 4:53 p.m. Monday. Maintaining power to the Monitor II was not easy. The 9v backup battery lifetime was typically 11 hours. Transfer to a laptop prevented data loss while switching batteries.
We were on the western (clean) edge of the eye and did not get much rain. The barometric low (985 mBar) occurred at 6 a.m. and the winds persisted until early evening.
Our station is well protected by the nearby greenbelt (we are on the south side and the winds were from the north) so while the tops of the trees were experiencing 50mph+ winds we did not get that at roof top level. While neighbors, and the power lines, had trees down, we did not have any damage. The biggest problem was the 100 degree days after the storm without air conditioning, but we shouldn't complain considering what others had to deal with.
